Cottage and Location Description A 9000 acre Estate stretching from the Vale of Strathmore to straddle the Sidlaw hills is the gloriously peaceful setting for these delightful properties. Enjoying different locations throughout the Estate and renovated to a very high standard carefully retaining their traditional features they all have very comfortable and stylishly furnished interiors as well as charming gardens and all boast a private hot tub (except Pitermo Cottage whose attractive accommodation is enhanced by a romantic four poster bed). The adjoining properties of East and West Newbigging sit on a quiet coutry lane and Ralston Cottage and Ralston Bothy are all within a mile of Newtyle's village shop P.O. and pub serving food. Pitermo Cottage and Farmhouse both enjoy a gently elevated position with far reaching views. Close by stunning Clushmill Cottage sits in its own attractive garden commanding lovely views over a peaceful valley surrounded by mature woodland whilst luxurious West Keith Cottage nestles at the end of a farm track in the heart of the Estate about 5 miles from a shop and pub serving food. Kinpurnie Estate offers its visitors wonderful walking opportunities with fabulous views at every turn and beautiful picnic spots. Shooting can (by arrangement) be enjoyed on the Estate in season there is a 'put and take' trout fishery (March December). The rolling Angus Glens are a joy to explore. Glamis Castle the childhood home of the late Queen Mother lies close by and Dundee (12 miles away on the Firth of Tay) boasts excellent shopping leisure facilities restaurants and galleries One of the features of its fascinating waterfront attraction is The Discovery the ship Captain Scott used for his antarctic exploration in 1901. Further east along the River Tay and well worth a visit are both Scone Palace the heart of Scotland's history immortalised in Shakespeare's Macbeth and the former home of the Stone of Destiny and the Fair City of Perth with its elegant Georgian architecture and good theatre. There are many golf courses within an easy drive including the renowned courses at Carnoustie and St Andrews. Good downhill and cross country skiing can be found (in season) at Glenshee 28 miles.
