Just 3 miles away Filey's award wining gardens sea fishing trips friendly atmosphere and traditional seaside charm have made it a firm holiday favourite for many years and Bridlington and Scarborough (both about 10 miles) offer a wide variety of lively entertainments including a famous theatre. A scenic drive over the moors leads to the charming village of Robin Hood's Bay where visitors can explore its fishing and smuggling history whilst enjoying its picturesque present. Beyond it lies Whitby a traditional fishing town with a maritime heritage its harbour often graced by tall ships. The legendary destination of Count Dracula to whom a museum in the town is dedicated Whitby is also home to the Captain Cook Museum gourmet fish restaurants craft and antique shops and jewellers selling the famous Whitby jet.
There are great days out to enjoy inland too.
