Enjoying splendid views in a secluded setting and with a trout river running alongside its 1½ acres of private grounds Todsmill offers visitors spacious well equipped and very comfortable single storey accommodation. Keen anglers should bring their rods for the fishing on site. Nearby Linlithgow has many attractive buildings as well as shops pubs and tea rooms (3 miles) but is best known for its Royal Palace; overlooking the town's loch and probably Scotland's finest such building it was begun in the 15th century and is famous as the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Other historic places of interest include the ruins of Blackness Castle (7 miles) from where a nature trail runs along the seaward edge of woodlands to one of the loveliest 18th century houses in Scotland Hopetoun House its museum and park; in the same small area visitors will discover the little 17th century fairytale castle The Binns (NTS). Beecraigs Country Park is 5 miles. Sports centre swimming pool riding 3 miles. Golf 1½ miles.
